Intermon Oxfam is looking to fill the position of Humanitarian Support Personnel Water & Sanitation and Health & Hygiene Promotion for the International Cooperation Department. JOB'S DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Water and Sanitation Manager, the selected person will be responsible for Intermon Oxfam humanitarian response for water and sanitation in cases of crises and emergencies. The person's key functions will be: - Analyse, identify and answer to the needs in water & sanitation supplies and health & Hygiene Promotion, in order to give an efficient and speedy response. - To evaluate the risk situations concerning public health in the affected area and rapidly and efficiently answer to emergencies. - Select, design and carry out, in an emergency situation, the follow up of the building and rehabilitation of water supply systems and the installation of sanitation. - To evaluate and implement health and hygiene promotion activities and the community participation to the support of those affected by the emergency. - To plan and control the budgeted expenses for the response. - To select, form and train the Technical team. - To lead the Watsan and the Hygiene Promotion team and carry out the follow up of the selected activities and initiatives. - Identify and evaluate the existing resources and the local partners', the humanitarian agencies and the governmental authorities' capacity. - To coordinate and collaborate with other departments for the project, carrying out administration tasks, contracts and management of personnel as well as follow up of the budget and purchase of logistic material. - To represent Intermón Oxfam before the humanitarian agencies, the governmental authorities and the media on the field. WORK CONDITIONS Contract of employment: Contract of 2 years. Salary: According to the Intermon Oxfam's country salary scale. Social benefits: Medical, life and accident insurance and children' benefit. Holidays: 30 natural days per year. Working place: Barcelona, Spain (80% on the field) - Applicant Requirements:
- University degree or equivalent engineering qualification; a specific qualification in Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (Watsan) or Environmental will be very much valued. - A minimum experience of 2 years in water and sanitation humanitarian programmes. An experience in emergency programmes is indispensable. - Knowledge and experience regarding water engineering (water collection and supply systems as well as analysis and treatment) and sanitation systems for emergencies in rural and urban areas in countries of the South. - Languages: Spanish, English, French (two languages are required) - Availability, without any warning, at any time and in any country for the amount of time thought to be necessary for travelling/ stays on field (it is estimated that 80% of the time will be spent in the field) - Results orientated and capacity for organisation. - Team work and collaboration. - High flexibility and adaptation to changes. - Application instructions:
