A Director of Institutional Research and Assessment position is now open in our Research and Planning area. The work location is at the main CMI campus in Uliga, Majuro. The position supports five broad areas of focus: institutional research capacity and training; measuring student learning and satisfaction with the College's academic and student service programs, benchmarking the College against peer and aspirant institutions, fulfilling ad hoc research studies and data requests, and forecasting the future resource needs of the College - specifically in terms of financial, human, information technology, and physical resources. Under the general direction of the Vice President for Research, Planning, and Grants the Director of Institutional Research and Assessment will: 1. Assist in directing a broad range of planning, research, evaluation, and assessment processes in support of the College's academic and administrative efforts; 2. Provide leadership in the development of a "culture of assessment and evidence" for the College with emphasis on outcomes assessment and other assessment methods strategies; 3. Design and implement departmental methods for collecting and analyzing data; 4. Coordinate data collection and analysis for assessing institutional effectiveness; 5. Make appropriate recommendations for improving data collection methods; 6. Administer college surveys and analyze survey results; 7. Analyze data to identify trends that impact student, staff, and faculty retention; 8. Provide consulting support to academic departments and academic support programs in their assessment, program evaluation, and accreditation efforts; 9. Supply data to support academic and academic support program reviews; 10. Maintain Key Performance Indicator data and assess the College's progress in achieving its strategic goals, mission, and vision; 11. Collaborate with a College's curriculum and assessment committee to coordinate institutional assessment projects; 12. Support the College by regularly participating in campus activities and committees, 13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Research, Planning, and Grants. Minimum Qualifications - Master's degree in a field related to statistics, institutional research, quantitative analysis, and/or research methods; - Minimum two years experience in assessment, data analysis, or research design and implementation in an institution of higher learning or an applied, organizational, or institutional research related field. Additional education qualifications may be accepted in place of work experience; - A high degree of proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Access; - Basic programming skills in Visual Basic, SQL, or another comparable language; - Ability to be self-directed in formulating analytical summaries, findings and recommendations for action and further study; - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical data, financial reports, and legal documents; - Ability to respond to common inquiries from faculty, administrators, and regulatory agencies; - Ability to write reports in a prescribed style and format; - Ability to effectively present information to administrators, faculty, and the wider college community; - Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people. Preferred Qualifications - Previous leadership experience in higher education program review and assessment of student programs and academic support services; - Advanced programming skills in Visual Basic, SQL, or another comparable language; - Working knowledge of statistical software such as SPSS or Minitab. - Applicant Requirements:
Compensation - Salary range - US$25,000 - US$35,000/ Salary placement is depending upon relevant education, training and experience. - Salary is supplemented by up to US$9,000 in annual housing allowance - Initial contract of two years Benefits - Two-year initial contract - Transportation from the point of hire to the Marshall Islands - Shipping reimbursement of between US$2,500 and US$4,000, depending on the number of accompanying dependents. - Application instructions:
