This position is part of our Visiting International Professionals Program and is a Volunteer position. DARFUR STOVES PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT Location:Nyala, South Darfur, Sudan Duration:8-12 weeks (2-3 months) When open:ASAP Scope of Work: Work with the Darfur Fuel Efficient Stoves (DFES) Program staff to assist in all aspects of the management of stoves' production in Nyala, to make sure that the demand is met and that the stoves that are being produced are of good quality, properly distributed and monitored. Look into all aspects of the daily management and toping up the capacity of the production that includes management of production facility and staff, managing orders and working with clients (organizations interested in purchasing the stoves), monitoring of the team to maintain production and delivery schedules, etc.. Report regularly on achieved progress and monitor current DFES production, quality control, distribution and social acceptance. Advise on occurrences impeding production and actions to counter them, and provide recommendations to further strengthen all production aspects. Work with logistics team to develop a means of marking and branding each individual metal stove with CHF logo and individual numbering system. Identify and implement strategies to strengthen the quality of the production, with an emphasis on improving means for monitoring and evaluation and measuring effectiveness of stoves previously distributed and prepare the program to integrate into the Kyoto protocol program for Carbon Credits purchasing. - Applicant Requirements:
2-3 years experience in production management and systems, to include layout and implementation of production systems, as well as administration for production systems; Experience with access database and use of databases; Previous work experience in foreign environments in transition or post-conflict economies; Sensitivity to cultural and social aspects of work in transition or post-conflict economies. - Application instructions:
