Provide M&E technical assistance to field offices and to headquarters. This position is based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina but with intermittent field trips to country offices in Africa. Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans for projects. Provide ongoing oversight of M&E activities in the field. Provide technical assistance to M&E field staff. Assist with technical design: sampling frames, sample size, data analysis, writing up data results, preparation of reports. Train in-country counterparts and field staff in selected M&E areas. Participate in proposal development: writing M&E sections (including PMPs with indicators) for project proposals. Develop and write up research design for special studies. Assist with creation of data collection instruments (mainly formulating survey questionnaires and assessing reliability and validity of measures). Perform data analysis and the write-up of results. - Applicant Requirements:
Masters' or doctoral degree in Public Health or possibly social sciences. At least 3 years of proven M&E experience. Experience working on M&E for USAID funded projects. Demonstrated skills in quantitative data analysis and data management. Experience in developing data collection instruments. Strong writing skills in English. Strong conceptual ability. Comfortable multi-tasking: handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize assignments. Proficient in databases: a statistical database (e.g. SPSS), Excel, Word, Power Point Ability to travel 20%-25%. Experienced in qualitative data collection and analysis. - Application instructions:
