- Description:
RMIT University is tendering for the AusAID funded LAOS AUSTRALIAN SCHOLARSHIPS PROGRAM. This program is designed to improve human resource capacity in Lao PDR consistent with the sectoral, regional, transboundary and emerging priorities of the Laos-Australia development cooperation program and the broader bilateral relationship. The contractor will provide services including: promotion of Australian Scholarships to eligible candidates and implementation and annual review of communication strategies; management of the application and nomination process; management of activities associated with Australian Scholarships selection processes; provision of Pre-departure Training Programs for ADS candidates and other preparatory programs; mobilisation of scholarship awardees; post-study support for graduates; post-award monitoring & evaluation, and Program Management. It is anticipated that the program will commence in December 2008 and will continue over four years. - Applicant Requirements:
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA #1. Demonstrated education management/ program manager experience in developing countries #2. Solid experience working in Laos or another Mekong country #3. Sound knowledge & experience of current Australian government overseas scholarship programs administered by AusAID and DEEWR #4. Comprehensive knowledge of the Australian tertiary sector #5. Demonstrated ability to lead a mixed team of local and international staff #6. Excellent interpersonal skills and liaison skills and demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a cross-cultural setting #7.
