The Fishing Boat Owners Association (FBOA), with support from the Center for the Development of Enterprise, Seychelles Fishing Authority, and in partnership with the French Association of Sea bass Handliners, is currently implementing the following project: "Design, implement, manage and sustain a quality certification/labelling programme for artisanal fisheries products in Seychelles" and Is seeking a Fishery facilitator Duration of the assignment is 12 months - Applicant Requirements:
Activities of the facilitator The candidate is required to have knowledge of fisheries and should have a successful track record of facilitating events such as meeting, training and seminars. The duration of the contract is expected to be twelve months. The facilitator will be based in Seychelles but will be expected to travel throughout the country (Mahé, Praslin and La Digue). The facilitator shall, under the supervision of the administrative and technical supervisors implement the certification/labelling project according to work plan activities scheduled and associated budget. More specifically the duties of Facilitator will be to: - Plan, organise and facilitate meeting with fishing boat owners and fishermen as per established work plan activities, - Prepare background documents as per work plan activities, site visit, training programme, labelling plan, communication & marketing plan, - Prepare the work programmes of the photograph, designer and assist them in their duties, - Monitor the technical and financial implementation of the project, and prepare progress reports and final project report, - Consult and liaise with the ALPB with respect to a field trip to France, the implementation of the project, particularly on the certification/labelling strategy & plan, and the communication and marketing strategy and plan. Experience and qualification Qualifications and skills: - A University degree in fisheries development, fisheries management General professional experience: - Knowledge of fisheries facilitation and consultative process, - Experience in fishery product certification/labelling initiative - Background in fish and fish products value-addition; Specific professional experience: - Long term background in fisheries development and fisheries management Additional Professional experience: - Experience in project cycle management, monitoring, administration and reporting, - Overseas working experiences. - Application instructions:
