CHF International seeks an experienced education expert to serve as a technical advisor for a DOL proposal to address exploitive child labor issues and educational needs for children withdrawn from exploitive child labor in Nicaragua. The consultant will provide strategic guidance and technical input for the program design of USDOL proposal. S/he will work closely with the Program Development team, providing to craft an innovative and responsive technical proposal within reasonable budget parameters. Candidates in the Washington, DC preferred, but global applications are accepted. This short term consultancy (approximately 30 days) may require travel to Nicaragua. - Applicant Requirements:
At least five years professional experience in planning or implementation of child labor and/or complex education programs in developing countries such as: education policy; improving educational quality and access; educational assessment of disadvantaged students; development of community participation in the improvement of basic education for disadvantaged children; and monitoring and evaluation of basic education projects; Knowledge of education, exploitative child labor issues and experience in the development of formal, non-formal and vocational education and children removed from exploitative child labor required; understanding of livelihoods, entrepreneurship, and vocational training approaches preferred; Superior writing skills and native-level English fluency required, Spanish fluency desirable; Prior experience with DOL proposal development and program implementation required; Knowledge of LAC region, culture, and political situation desirable; Masters degree or higher in Education, International Development, Economics, Political Science, or related field; Able to travel to Nicaragua. - Application instructions:
