As part of the program of rehabilitation and reconstruction for Timor Leste, The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Ministry of Health has received a grant in the amount of Euros 3,441,407 from the Commission of the European Communities for the Timor-Leste Health Support Program and administered by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD). The Government of Timor-Leste introduced Standard Treatment Guidelines (STG) and Essential Drug List/Catalogue (EDL) designed to assist medical practitioners in making decisions about appropriate health care practice for specific clinical conditions. In addition, a Timor-Leste National Formulary (TLNF) draft does exist and requires final updates and revision and ultimate launching. STG, EDL/Catalogue and TLNF should reflect expert consensus based on a review of published scientific evidence of acceptable approaches to drug, non-drug and procedural interactions in the management of specific conditions. - Applicant Requirements:
Overall Responsibility To provide advice to NDTAC on the sub-technical committee establishment criteria. To coordinate and facilitate activities of technical sub-committees during the STG and EDL/Catalogue revision process. To provide expert advice on revising and updating of existing and potential treatment options with regards to quality, safe and affordable medicines and medical supplies on the basis of valid clinical evidence. To provide technical input in areas of evaluation (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat on the current TLNF) and updating the TLNF. To carry out any other functions and provide updates, reports and such other information as may be required by the National Drug and Therapeutic Advisory Committee and to attend meetings whenever required. -Essential Criteria To be considered as a candidate for the position, the candidate must have at least 10 years working experience. The candidate must be a clinical pharmacologist/medical doctor with extensive experience in development and / revision of STG, EDL and National Formularies in developing countries and must demonstrate expertise in pharmacoeconomics.
