- Description:
Two crucial roles have opened at Oxfam New Zealand for committed and talented professionals with strong advocacy skills. For each role, you must be an excellent communicator and experienced networker with an ability to campaign on complex issues and influence policy. A tertiary level qualification in development studies, economics, law, political science or related discipline is essential, as are a sharp mind and incisive analytical skills. The Advocacy Director, a full-time position based in Auckland, leads the advocacy strategy and its implementation across the organisation. The Director will manage a small team to work on Oxfam's priority advocacy objectives using a combination of research, policy analysis, media, political outreach and popular campaigning. As part of the Senior Management Team, the Director plays an influential role in the direction of Oxfam's future goals and strategies, both in New Zealand and internationally. The Policy Advisor, a part-time senior-level position based in Wellington, engages with parliamentarians, government officials, business leaders, non-governmental organisations and others. The Advisor monitors, informs and influences policies of the New Zealand government and political parties, so the role requires experience in political analysis and the ability to proactively work in the New Zealand political environment. - Application instructions:
