AusAID, the Australian Government's overseas aid agency, is expected shortly to request tenders from eligible organisations to provide in-country management support of the Indonesia Australia Scholarships Program. Australian government-funded scholarships for scholars from Indonesia are an important element of the Australian Government's aid program and reflect its commitment to fostering people-to-people linkages between Australia and Indonesia. It is understood that AusAID plans to appoint a managing contractor for up to 3 years, commencing in the second half of 2008, to provide in-country management services, including support for program promotion, application processing, selection of students, pre-departure preparation, and negotiating placement in courses. Post-award monitoring and support for graduates returning to Indonesia, and reporting on the development impacts and effectiveness of the scholarship programs is also likely to be an important component of the contractor's services. SKM is experienced in the provision of similar services for AusAID and is currently preparing to tender for the provision of these services in Indonesia. We are seeking a highly qualified Program Director (PD) to manage the program. The PD will be responsible for providing direction and leadership for the program and effectively planning and managing program resources. The PD will play a key role in planning, implementing and monitoring activities that are designed to improve the outcomes of the scholarship program after scholars return to Indonesia. - Applicant Requirements:
Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience Substantial relevant professional experience in a program management role in Indonesia or similar developing country context Sound knowledge and appreciation of current Australian Government overseas scholarship policy and programs administered by AusAID and DEEWR. Comprehensive knowledge and familiarity with the Australian tertiary education sector Demonstrated ability to lead a mixed team of local and international staff Excellent interpersonal and liaison skills and demonstrated capacity to work sensitively in a cross-cultural setting, ideally in Indonesia or similar context. Excellent written and spoken English language communication skills and presentation skills Ability to undertake policy reviews and to produce timely, succinct, high quality strategies and analytical reports Ability to develop and implement monitoring and evaluation (M&E) processes and knowledge of appropriate information systems to support program M&E. Bahasa Indonesia language skills are an advantage - Application instructions:
