The HIV/AIDS Program Leader provides technical leadership and oversight to RTI's International Health team's contracts supporting HIV/AIDS prevention, counseling, and treatment and is responsible for developing and expanding the International Health team's portfolio in HIV/AIDS assistance. This position will be based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Duties and Responsibilities - Provide overall technical leadership and oversight of the International Health Team's HIV/AIDS prevention, counseling, and treatment projects and the staff that implement them - Market for new HIV/AIDS opportunities by networking with potential donors to ensure financial and technical support for HIV/AIDS-related activities - Represent RTI's work on HIV/AIDS in regional or global forums, networks, technical advisory groups, and consultative sessions or conferences - Stay informed of cutting edge HIV/AIDS prevention, counseling, and treatment initiatives, approaches, and lessons learned in the international health community - Engage in cross-center collaboration within the International Development Group to promote the HIV/AIDS practice area Travel: 30% - Applicant Requirements:
- Advanced Degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related field - Candidates should have least 10 years of experience in designing, implementing and managing HIV/AIDS programs in developing countries and have an excellent understanding of HIV/AIDS epidemiology and interventions - 5 - 7 years of experience in one of the International Health Team's core competencies (Economics, Policy, Finance, Capacity Development, Research and Evaluation, Infectious Diseases, Public Private Partnerships) - Previous experience supervising staff - Proven market development experience - Strong analytical skills - Strong financial/budget management skills - Foreign language fluency in French or Portuguese preferred - Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks and work collaboratively with others - Ability to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external clients - Excellent oral and written communications skills - Eligibility to work in the U.S. - Application instructions:
