People-based organisations: what organisational psychology can contribute to aid and development  new

One of the most valuable assets that any organisation holds is the people who work within it. That is particularly true for those organisations which are involved in aid and development work. Organisations working in these areas, and ultimately the communities they serve, rely on commitment, motivation and a range of other human factors from their staff. 'How' do we (a) describe, (b) select, (c) train and (d) evaluate these important workers? Using hands-on practical exercises, this workshop will explore a selection of relatively robust process skills/techniques for tackling questions (a) to (d), in a contemporary context. Saturday 27 September 2008, 9.00 - 4.30
