Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat

The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat aims to work in support of Forum Member governments to enhance the economic and social well-being of the people of the South Pacific by fostering cooperation between governments and between international agencies, and by representing the interests of Forum members in ways agreed by the Forum.

Secretariat of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP)

Site for the Secretariat of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP). The Secretariat is responsible for the administrative management of the ACP Group. It assists the Group's decision-making and advisory organs in carrying out their work.

South Pacific Applied Geoscience Commission (SOPAC)

The South Pacific Applied Geoscience Commission (SOPAC) is an independent, inter-governmental, regional organisation established by a few South Pacific nations in 1972, originally as CCOP/SOPAC. SOPAC Includes 18 Member countries in the South Pacific as well as a number of supporting governments and agencies. Its Secretariat is located in Suva, Fiji.

South Pacific Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA)

The South Pacific Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) was established in 1979 under a Convention signed by 12 Forum member countries. The Convention reflects the common concern of member nations on matters of conservation, optimum utilization and coastal states sovereign rights over the region's living marine resources.

South Pacific Regional Environment Programme

The South Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) is a regional organisation established by the governments and administrations of the Pacific region to look after its environment. This is reflected in the Mission Statement of SPREP which calls on the organisation, "to promote co-operation in the South Pacific region and to provide assistance in order to protect and improve its environment and to ensure sustainable development for present and future generations".

The Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC)

The SPC is a non-political, technical assistance and research body, filling a consultative and advisory role. The South Pacific Commission, as it was formerly known, was founded in 1947 under the Canberra Agreement. The 27 members of the Pacific Community include 22 Pacific Island countries and territories as well as Australia, France, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
