Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance in Humanitarian Action (ALNAP)

Established in 1997, the Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance in Humanitarian Action (ALNAP) is an international interagency forum working to improve the quality and accountability of humanitarian action. Its objective is: 'to improve the quality of, and accountability in, humanitarian action. Recognising the different needs of particular organisations and groups within the humanitarian system, it seeks to achieve this by providing a system-wide forum to identify, debate, prioritise and address issues of common concern around quality and accountability.' ALNAP was founded in the belief that: there is a significant agenda to be addressed in terms of the accountability and quality of humanitarian assistance operations; the process of addressing this agenda will be greatly facilitated by an inclusive forum for the exchange of views and experiences.
