Samoa Floods - June 2003: American Samoa to receive funding after being declared a federal disaster area

RNZI NEWS, 8:15 am on 09 June 2003. The US President, George Bush, has declared American Samoa a federal disaster area following the flooding and landslides in the territory last month. Four people were killed, many people were left homeless and up to fifty million dollars worth of damage was caused by the torrential rain.
