Child Soldiers Ratification Campaign: Fiji

Fijian troops have served in many peacekeeping operations around the world, yet Fiji has not yet signed the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child which establishes 18 as the minimum age for conscription, forced recruitment, or participation in armed conflict. Children of Darfur: Send a Postcard to the President!

Children are the youngest survivors of this genocide, and their drawings depict the atrocities that they face. Dr. Jerry Ehrlich, a pediatrician from New Jersey, collected drawings from children in Darfur and smuggled them to the U.S. in pages of a Sunday edition of the New York Times. Africa Action has converted these drawings into an exhibit to help remind people of the on-going genocide in Darfur.
