Protect Wetland Bird Paradise in India

In honor of World Wetlands Day (February 2), Global Response are launching a new campaign to protect a vital wetland ecosystem in northeastern India. Scientists, bird watchers, local environmental organizations and indigenous fishermen know the value of the vast Deepor Beel wetland, but government entities treat it as a garbage dump. International pressure is needed now to persuade authorities to implement a management plan that will protect the wetland and hundreds of threatened species that depend on it for survival. You can support them by writing letters and signing a petition on their website.
