Aid for Trade roadmap 2008

Reconciling Trade and Human Rights: The new development agenda

Ukraine becomes the WTO's 152nd member

On 16 May 2008, the WTO welcomed Ukraine as its newest member. Ukraine started its accession negotiations in 1993.

WTO Public forum 2008: "Trading into the future", 24-25 September 2008

The WTO is calling for civil society representatives interested in organizing a session during the 2008 Public Forum to fill out the Call for Proposals Form before Thursday 1 May 2008. Discussions will be sought on the challenges and opportunities facing the WTO in each of its main functions, as well as on the challenges and opportunities facing the main actors and stakeholders of the system.

WTO Seattle Collection

The 1999 'anti-globalsiation' protests outside the WTO meeting in Seattle received wide national and international coverage. This digital collection from the University of Washington brings together some of the ephemeral printed material that was generated around the time of the demonstrations. Users can perform a keyword search on the database, or they can search the materials by category headings, which include "photographs", "planning documents", and "environment".
